Who we are
Half Pigeon Yoga is a yoga studio in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg — created for people seeking movement, mindfulness, emotional well-being, and community. We believe yoga isn't about perfection or performance. It's a practice for real life: for stress, change, growth, relationships, parenthood, rest, and reconnection.
We're intentionally inclusive. Through power vinyasa, yin, breath, stillness, sound baths, prenatal offerings, and community gatherings, we meet students where they are — and everyone is welcome: men, women, couples, parents, athletes, beginners, and longtime practitioners alike.
What we value
Steady, clear, and warm. No hype, no pressure — just a welcoming place to practice.
Breath, movement, and stillness as supportive tools for presence and steadiness in everyday life.
A place to feel seen and supported — especially if you're unsure where to begin.
Honoring movement as a pathway back to the body, the breath, and the present moment.
The hearts behind Half Pigeon
Founder · Teacher
Adela grew up in El Salvador, where family, nature, and the steady rhythms of everyday life shaped a deep appreciation for simplicity and resilience. She built a career in brand strategy after moving to the U.S., and came to yoga during seasons of transition — finding a way to slow down, reconnect, and create space for clarity and steadiness.
Her teaching is warm, intuitive, and deeply human — creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and cared for. Her friends and family lovingly call her Pachamama.
Founder · Teacher
Thomas grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a lifelong love of movement, sport, and the outdoors. Yoga first entered his life as a physical practice and quickly became something deeper — a way to feel grounded, focused, and present through movement, breath, heat, and stillness.
He brings a movement-centered, disciplined energy to the studio. His path offers an easy entry point for anyone — especially those new to yoga — who connects first through strength, sport, and physical practice.
Studio Pup
The unofficial heart of Half Pigeon. Gus takes his role very seriously — greeting students at the door, holding down the best spot on the floor, and reminding everyone that rest is a practice too. Ask him about savasana; he's an expert.
Our shared vision
Half Pigeon grew out of a simple belief: people need spaces where they can slow down, reconnect with themselves, strengthen relationships, and feel part of something supportive and real. That's the heart of why we practice.
Thomas and Adela feel aligned with St. Petersburg's creative, open-hearted, wellness-oriented spirit. As they build their marriage, prepare for parenthood, and create the studio together, they see this work as an extension of the life they're building — intentional, grounded, and rooted in community.
"Come as you are. Meet yourself where you are. Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or deepening a long practice — there's a place for you here."
